I absolutely adore how this was mixed, it's so punchy and really adds to the rhythm!

oh my god dude this is great, this is how more remakes should be- no offence towards the original but this version is like so so so much cleaner and i just love it

lantaren responds:

Glad you enjoy it!

I like the sense of familiarity and how you blend into the second Act, the YM2612 is so awesome!

My only complaint is that the drums are a bit loud and the track overall sounds like it has a really nasty bitcrush that kinda ruins it, but other than that; good recreation with your own licks of paint in places.

Doublechindoge7 responds:

Thanks. There were a few different varieties of sound quality the Megadrive was capable of, and for most instruments I decided to go with the one with the highest bit depth for good dynamic range at the cost of a much lower sample rate of 11025Hz. Maybe this was overdoing it with the sample rate reduction, but I liked the sound of it. I thought it was pretty necessary, especially because honestly the Megadrive Electric Guitar sounds are annoyingly high-pitched and weak at the normal sample rate of 44.1Khz imo, but the extra aliasing with the lower sample rate made them sound less whiny and more aggressive to me.

love the m1 sax and siren.mp3 and ah yeah.mp3 and pump up the volume.mp3

ok being serious this is awesome; love how this sounds, so funky and upbeat seriously can't get enough!

what the fuck you've like massively improved, i remember commenting on one of your tracks from 2017 saying it was bad and now i'm here and this is great, my only complaint is that the synth at the start hurts my ears just a lil bit

Jupitrean responds:

lmao yup I kinda sucked back in the day. Thanks for the review!!

I personally don't think this is horrible, but yeah; for an old song this is pretty nice actually, I like the drop and how it sounds, it's not great but I could definitely listen to this.

This is really cool, my only problem is that some of the synths at 14s get drowned out, loved how you changed it up at 20s in!

I think this song has one of the most amazing atmospheres I've ever heard in a song; it's really hard to describe but the best way I can describe it is that the song tells of an emotional journey to overcome; and then as it gets more and more upbeat it's as if you're overcoming it, and then by the end it's over and you've entirely overcome it. I love the feeling of joy and sadness upon listening to it. Dimrain you were an absolutely fantastic music artist and listening to your songs has given many, 100s even a lot of joy. I hope that some day you come back to us as we all here really miss you and it's very heartbreaking to not be listening to a song by you.

I feel like the additions you added to this song really work in a sense; it kind of feels like the emotions you feel when you first play MC in some way that I don't know how to describe, but honestly it's pretty neat how you can evoke these feelings by adding to a song that's already nostalgic enough.

look i own way too much stuff to list it here
